STS WORSHIP VALUES

Please read and consider the following values to ensure your life and philosophy of ministry are in alignment with ours. Should you join the STS Worship family, you will be asked to sign a covenant committing to embodying these values and to guarding your personal witness, the ministry’s reputation, and ultimately the name of Christ.

HOLINESS

  • DEVOTION. We prioritize and pursue a deep relationship with Jesus. We minister out of the overflow of our own private worship where we are prayerfully prepared before we approach the platform to lead publicly.

  • INTEGRITY. We strive to live “above reproach”, worthy of our calling, and consistent with Scripture’s teaching. We recognize that how we carry ourselves affects not only our own reputations and witness, but that of our families, churches, the ministry of SDEA/STS, and ultimately Jesus Christ. We are anchored in Christian community, invested in a local church, and accountable to spiritual authority.

HUMILITY

  • HONOR. We respect leadership, embrace an others-first orientation, and lead through the posture of service.

  • MODESTY. We do our best to make much of God - not ourselves. We choose to deflect attention from ourselves and direct it to God. We consciously make efforts to eliminate potential distractions (actions, attire, agendas/opinions, etc...) from the worship of Jesus.

  • AVAILABILITY. We seek to use our platform to serve the Church. We make ourselves approachable to anyone we encounter and fight the temptation to isolate and give off a sense of “superiority.”

  • FLEXIBILITY. We are prepared to respond to change graciously and with a positive attitude - seeking to make the most of every circumstance no matter how challenging.

EXCELLENCE

  • PREPARATION. We are committed to honing our craft, constantly growing our competencies, and stewarding our God-given talent well. We are committed to performing at the highest caliber we’re capable of as an act of service to God, our bandmates, and those we’re leading.

  • PUNCTUALITY. We respect each other's time and work to make our time together productive - focusing our full attention and giving our best efforts to the task at hand.

  • COMMUNICATION. We do our best to be accessible and clear in our communication efforts with one another - committing to checking correspondence regularly and responding to one another in a timely manner.

  • OWNERSHIP / COMMITMENT. We do our absolute best to serve faithfully - following through on our commitments and taking responsibility for our words and actions. We always seek to bring value and solutions to the team and to relieve the burdens of each other in any way possible.

PASSION

  • SINCERE JOY. Our joyful expression is the overflow of our whole-hearted love for God. It’s authentic and isn’t forced or fabricated. We are a grateful people and it’s apparent in our songs, encouragements/exhortations, and energy levels.

  • EXPRESSIVE ENGAGEMENT. We encourage the Church to worship with Biblical expression and set an example from the platform. We seek to create an atmosphere of worship where everyone feels free to worship as they feel led.
